Markus Galmore is a professional dog trainer, working-dog specialist, mentor, and advocate for stronger relationships between young people and law enforcement. Growing up in an underserved St. Louis neighborhood, Markus witnessed how limited opportunities and strained relationships between communities and police could shape young lives. Those experiences inspired him to pursue a career centered on service, mentorship, and creating meaningful opportunities for others.
Markus attended the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers and has more than 10 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, he has trained dogs in basic and advanced obedience, police K9 work, service-dog training, agility, trick-dog training, scent work, personal protection, and rally.
He is also the co-owner of Pawfect K9, a successful dog-training company that he co-founded with Jeremy Sebree more than seven years ago.
Markus has completed the American Protection & Patrol Dog Association (APPDA) decoy qualifications and the Police K9 Decoy Course hosted by Homeland K9 International. He has served as a decoy at numerous APPDA trials, personal-protection competitions, and working-dog events, earning multiple Decoy’s Choice awards. He has also competed in PSA and gained extensive experience evaluating and supporting working-dog teams in high-level training and competition environments.
In 2026, Markus served as both a certifier and decoy for the AMPWDA St. Louis Police K9 Conference, further demonstrating his expertise in police K9 evaluation, decoy work, and professional development.
Markus co-founded Working Dog Initiative with Jeremy Sebree to apply his experience to a broader mission: providing police agencies with no-cost K9s, supporting police K9 teams, and giving underserved young people hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to build positive relationships with law enforcement. Through this work, Markus is helping create pathways to personal growth, professional development, and stronger communities.
